June & July

So it’s my friends birthday at the end of June and mine at the start. (this Tuesday to be exact! June 1st).

My friend Wade wanted to do something different for his birthday so he himself recommended going to see Dizzee Rascal. I thought this was a great idea so we all booked, and we are in Sheffield with Dizzee on the 24′th of June.

Then, Wade was over at my house last night chilling and killing on BlogTV when we both decided to go and see something else in July. It’s Manchester’s Real Radio’s 15 birthday bash. We are both very exited to see both.

“The chart-topping indie-pop trio will join Alexandra Burke, Alesha Dixon, Pixie Lott, The Saturdays, Gabriella Cilmi, Craig David, Amy McDonald, Beverley Knight, Fyfe Dangerfield and The Baseballs to celebrate the venue’s 15th birthday party on Thursday 15 July.

Scouting For Girls, who’ll make their M.E.N Arena debut at the bash, will be performing songs from their latest top ten album, Everybody Wants To Be On TV, alongside tracks from their self-titled debut including the smash hits Elvis Isn’t Dead, She’s So Lovely and It’s Not About You.

The hottest names from the top of the charts will join Scouting For Girls at the Arena including Bad Boys performer Alexandra Burke, singer and Strictly Come Dancing sensation Alesha Dixon, Brit Award winner Pixie Lott, chart-topping girl band The Saturdays, Australian pop darling Gabriella Cilmi, R&B star Craig David, Scottish singer-songwriter Amy MacDonald, soul singer Beverley Knight, Guillemots frontman Fyfe Dangerfield (currently in the top ten with She’s Always A Woman) and breakthrough Rockabilly stars The Baseballs.

Getting back into it..

Getting back into old ways can be beneficial sometimes..

I have been considering getting back into web proxies recently

Why?

There is always a demand for proxies and web based ones too. There can be a lot of money to be made from them. 9 times out of ten, the proxies will pay for themselfs, and sometimes even your internet connection, too!

If you are wondering what the hell I am going on about, please read below.

What is a proxy?

A proxy is a web page that provides Internet users with the ability to browse web sites that may be blocked by a content filter, such as WebSense or SmartFilter. By making use of the proxy as the portal to the blocked site, it is possible to circumvent the work of whatever content filter is in place. At the same time, the proxy site also helps to mask the visit to the site, so that there is less evidence that the content filter was not successful in preventing the visit.

How Does A Proxy Work?

Essentially, the proxy will provide the same ability to browse the Internet as any other web browser. A proxy site allows the user to key in a specific web address and be directed to that specific page in a window. This accomplishes two things. First, the window is coded as part of the proxy site address and not the actual web site the user is visiting. Second, any information cached on in the temporary Internet files will appear to be information related to the proxy site, and not the blocked web site.

Why Use A Proxy?
One of the legitimate uses of a proxy site is to get around blocked content that may contain one or two words that the filter has identified as inappropriate for viewing. Many companies make use of filters to limit the ability of employees to spend time looking at web pages that are not related to job functions in some manner. This is usually accomplished with the use of key words that are programmed into the filter, which in turn blocks any page or site with those words present. While this does block access to a number of sites that have nothing to do with work, they can also inhibit access to pages and glossaries that are designed to be helpful.

When this is the case, an employee may choose to use a proxy site to get around the block and be able to get to a page that he or she legitimately needs to view in order to accomplish a work related task. Since using a proxy site does not take much longer than using a browser window, it is much faster than calling technical support and trying to get authorization to remove a given site from the filter list.

Many totalitarian nations also use content filters to block their residents from finding information on the world wide web which may not be approved by the regime in power. Residents of those nations can use proxy sites to access news and information from the free world.

Another advantage of using the proxy site is that the IP address of the user is not logged. This helps to ensure the privacy and anonymity of Internet users.

So please wish me luck guys! I am going to be jumping straight in and setting up a few, hopefully successful websites!

Website Update

I have finally got round to finishing the MrBenji.com, configuring the website to work the way I want it, installing modifications (things what you can be) and rolling out bug updates, it sometimes takes a few days to fix everything as soon as a new website goes live.

As far as my YouTube and Twitter channels go, they are up and running fine with fresh content. I am actually going to upload some of my favorite videos from my DashTube1 account and upload them to mrbenjitv. These should be online within a few weeks. I know many of you have already seen these before, but don’t worry – I won’t bore you with them, after these go live, fresh content will be produced!).

Some people have been asking what happened to the DashTube1 channel as some people cannot access them. I have ‘hidden’ the channel, the channel is still there but you just cannot publicly view it. If you want to see my videos, just do a search in YouTube for ‘DashTube1′ and YouTube will pull them up.

Also, people have asked questions regarding to my BlogTV channel. Personaly, I don’t have any use for BlogTV anymore, I only seem to produce live shows when I have some friends round, other than that, I don’t really care about it so the channel will still be live. If for some reason I wish to produce some more live shows, I will notify you of any changes to the channel (username changes, etc.).

That’s all for now, what do you guys think of MrBenji.com? do you think it is an improvement from DashTube1.com?

Oh and, DashTube1.com will now re-direct to MrBenji.com.

That’s all for now,
Thanks,
-benji
